We're delighted to bring in our first ever Ethiopian coffee to Podda & Wren.

Hailed as the birthplace of coffee, very often associated with the great story of Kaldi the goat herder - Ethiopian coffee holds a special place in the hearts of speciality coffee lovers across the world.

Shoondhisa is the project of Ture Waji, and his brother Assefa, setting up Sookoo Coffee, a small project in Odo Shakiso, in the Guji Zone. Sookoo produces only naturally processed coffees, with coffee collected and separated from small local lots, or in Ethiopian 'Kebele' - this is where Shoondhisa gets it's name from.

This particular 'Kebele' produces a more 'classic Ethiopian' flavour as opposed to deriving it's taste from the natural process - we taste notes of Strawberry, Brown Sugar and Seville Orange. This offering is particularly good for espresso, but suitable for all brewing methods.
